Yay for college!! I've graduated from High School, FINALLY, and now I'm in college. I'm currently attending the Art Institute of Dallas. =^_^= So much fun. Okay this is my short story fan fic I did after reading Ch. 264 of Naruto. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS!!

Forgive Me
~Tribute to Gaara~

"What is your problem?!"
"...."
"Gaara, ever since you became Kazekage you've grown distant from me. I hate it!"
"It's my duty to protect those who reside in Hidden in Sand. To have it known that you and I have a relationship would be trouble."
"Oh, so now I'm trouble? You know what? Fine. I don't care anymore. If being Kazekage is more important to you then I'm okay with it. It's goo to

finally be able to know what you would've chosen. I guess, no, I won't be seeing you around. Have a great live, Kazekage." Aeyuki bowed to him

before she walked out of the building. She was a bit surprised when Kankuro ran passed her looking a bit worried.
"Kankuro?"
"The Akatsuki are here!"
"What?!" Aeyuki clenched her fists before she looked towards the main city. "Warn him, I'll go stall them." She quickly took off as Kankura ran to

tell him.

Can you forgive me again?
I don't know what I said.
But I didn't mean to hurt you.

"Gaara? Gaara, where- oh here you are."
"Momma? How come my name is on here?" A young boy with dark brown hair and black eyes asked as much older Aeyuki. She came over and

her heart sank.
"Well, this is who I got your name from. You're named after your Father's brother." She brought her boy into her arms.
"Momma, who was he?"
"... a really good friend of mine. He died protecting this country because it was his duty as Kazekage."
"I want to become Kazekage one day."
"Maybe one day. Now go on sweetheart. You need to go train with your Father today."
"Yes ma'am."

I heard the words come out.
I felt that I would die.
It hurt so much to hurt you.

"Gaara!" Aeyuki watched as the enemy took off with Gaara tucked under an arm.
"Aeyuki don't!" Kankuro quickly grabbed her but she jerked away.
"Let me go!" She quickly ran after him with tears in her eyes. "Gaara!" She called out to him but he didn't answer. She watched him fade into the

distance. She just stood there shaking her head.
"...Aeyuki."
"He can't leave.... he.... Gaara." She fell to her knees sobbing.

Then you look at me.
You're not shouting anymore.
You're silently broken.

"Why did you have to.... Gaara." She clenched her fists tightly as her tears fell. "I never got to apologize to you! You never came back! When you

did you.... you were gone." She placed her head on the headstone as her tears fell down slowly. "I thought you were unbeatable... untouchable....

why did you go and prove me wrong?!"

I'd give anything now to kill those words for you.

Each time I say something I regret, I cry.
"I don't want to lose you."
But somehow I know that you will never leave me, yeah.

'Cause you were made for me.
Somehow I'll make you see.
How happy you make me.

"Kan-kun I can see them!" Aeyuki jumped down with Kankuro and Temari following right after her. She laughed happily as she saw Kakashi's and

Gai's teams but she soon slowed down. Naruto walked in the front of them all and he was holding Gaara's body. She ran up to him and she

looked him in the eyes but he looked away.
"Aeyuki...." Kakashi looked to her as she reached out and touched Gaara's face. Her tears fell and she had to move her headband from to her

neck.
"Why..." She moved her hand away but before she could run away Kakashi turned her around and he held her gently allowing her to cry against

his chest.

I can't live this life without you by my side.
I need you to survive.

"I loved you Gaara! I loved you so much! Why did you leave me behind?" Aeyuki was venting, yelling at the grave. "You had to choose your duty...

this wouldn't have happened... y-you'd s-s-still be a-alive Gaara. DAMN YOU!" She sobbed holding his headband in her hand clenching it gently.

"I.... I'm sorry!"

So stay with me.
You look in my eyes and I'm screaming inside that I'm sorry.

"GAARA! I'm sorry! I'm sorry okay?! Please forgive me for what I said! Come back! Damn you... come... back." Aeyuki fell to her knees and both

Sakura and Ten Ten tried to comfort her.
"He can't come back." Neji looked to her and she cried even more. Later that night they buried him properly. They all stood there in silence.

Aeyuki looked at the grave with blankset eyes. Temari looked over and she nudged her elbow at Kankura. He looked to Aeyuki before he went

over and wrapped his arms around her.
"He's really gone... isn't he Kan-kun?"
"Yes, he's gone. You know he'd scoff to see you like this. So cheer up."
"I'll try." She looked to him and gave him a soft smile, sad, but soft.

And you forgive me again.
You're my one true friend.

"Aeyuki?" Kankuro, now older and with longer hair, came up and kneeled beside her.
"Is he asleep?"
"Yes. Hey bro, 'Yuki yelling at you again? Can't say I blame her." He smirked looking to her." You keep resting in peace, Gaara. I'm protecting her.

Besides, you no longer have to be afraid... to close your eyes and dream." He smiled sadly to the grave.
"I need to get dinner started. Come on, let's go home, Kan-kun. Gaara... sleep well." She placed his headband on the headstone as Kankuro got

up. They both walked away hand in hand.

And I never meant to hurt you.
